You never know where the next rescue mission is going to take you when you’re on the Hope for Paws team. These incredible rescuers recently received a call concerning a dog wandering around a port. It was late, but Eldad and Loreta wasted no time getting to the location. By the time they arrived, one of the workers, Al Rich, had already secured the dog in a gated area. He also gave the dog a name — Oolu!
Half the work was done, but Oolu was hungry, scared, and confused. After some quality time and a bit to eat, the team got Oolu into a crate and into the Hope for Paws vehicle. It was time to get her to the vet for a warm bath and medication for her skin infections, but a small detour was in order. Al offered to take Loreta and Eldad up on the crane to take a view of the port from up high. As you can imagine, it was breathtaking, especially at night!
With a sweet old face like Oolu’s, it wasn’t long before the amazing people at Lionel’s Legacy found her a forever home. Many people don’t realize that senior dogs like Oolu actually come with a lot of benefits! Not only are they extremely loyal, but most have already lived in a home, know how to interact with people, and are house-trained.
