Ten years is a long time to live on the streets – alone, scared, and blind. When Hope for Paws got the call about a senior dog who had experienced just this, JoAnn Wiltz and Lisa Arturo headed to the location to save him.
Upon arrival, they immediately noticed his cloudy eyes. This, along with his behavior, determined that he was completely blind. Using the snare, Lisa was able to capture him, which definitely caught him by surprise. He was not used to being restrained, so this was understandably a terrifying situation for him. Soon though, he wouldn’t have to be alone anymore. With the help of a neighbor, they led him into a crate and after a vet visit, the dog, who they named Pharaoh, was on his way to his new foster home, courtesy of Frosted Faces.
How wonderful is it to see this handsome fellow finally laying on a soft bed, fresh food and water nearby, friends to comfort him, and experiencing kindness and love? And it gets better! Lisa reports that Pharaoh has an upcoming appointment with an eye specialist to see if restoring his eyesight is a possibility. Let’s all send positive thoughts to sweet Pharaoh, as having this in any capacity would surely make him feel more comfortable in his new surroundings.
