We’ve all heard someone knocking on our door at an odd hour. Often when we answer it, it’s someone or something, we didn’t expect! That’s certainly the case for this homeowner and animal lover!
When this woman first heard the knocking on her glass door, she didn’t imagine it was a raccoon! But, sure enough it was a new friend, whom she named Rocksy.
Turns out Rocksy, a local mama raccoon, has a habit of eating up all the food from the cat bowl that this woman leaves out for strays. But like a diligent guest, she always lets her know when the bowl needs a refill! The way she does this, however, is unlike anything we’ve every seen – she picks up a rock and uses it to knock on the glass door, getting the attention of her new human bowl-filler-upper.
We can’t help but wonder if she is smart enough to do this, how soon before she’s ringing the doorbell or figures out how to unlock the door and make herself at home? Good thing this homeowner doesn’t seem to mind as she’s used to working with wildlife as a volunteer with Wildlife, Inc!
Remember, if you ever encounter a raccoon or any other wild animal, like Rocksy, it’s always best to leave them be and contact a professional wildlife specialist before taking actions to feed or help the animal – check out these hotlines to find a few.
