Pit Bull and Piglet BFFs Took to the Streets of California to Show Off Their Awesome Friendship

Police in the City of Fontana, California, recently received multiple calls about a Pit Bull roaming the streets … with a piglet. When police arrived, they found the pair together, taking a break from their escapades on the front lawn of someone’s home.

Thankfully, Apollo, the Pit Bull was microchipped so the police were able to find their guardians. Thankfully the police located their parents, who shared that the pair, Apollo and piglet Grizzly, are inseparable. They eat from the same bowl, sleep in the same bed, play together, and will even swim together. Can’t. Handle. 

The City of Fontana reminded the public to please microchip your animals … including pigs! If Apollo wasn’t microchipped, who knows what the fate could have been for these two pals. 

There’s also an important lesson to be learned from Apollo and Grizzly’s friendship. If these two understand that they’re more alike than they are different, even though they’re not the same species, then surely we can learn to love our fellow humans can’t we?

There is proof that pigs possess equal or more intelligence than the dogs and cats we keep as pets. They also like to do many of the things our pets do, like getting belly rubs, sunbathing, swimming, and searching for food. The sad truth of it all is that pigs and all farm animals are more like our beloved pets than most people would like to admit. It might seem odd, but at the end of the day, dogs and pigs share many similar traits, so why not love them equally?

We are so happy Apollo and Grizzly found their way home! Here’s to many more happy memories for these adorable BFFs.
