Pigs are really just giant pink dogs. They run, they play, they like to enjoy whatever food someone is willing to share with them, and they form lasting relationships with their families. Oh, and they really, really like belly rubs, as demonstrated in this video, posted by The Daily Squeel at Jon Stewart, former host of “The Daily Show” and his wife, Tracey Stewart‘s Farm Sanctuary in New Jersey.
In the video, Maybelle the pig doesn’t even attempt to resist what is clearly the best belly rub anyone has ever given her. She is completely overcome with sheer nirvana as she rolls over to enjoy the full effect. As the little girl rests her head on Maybelle’s tummy, it’s clear that these two have a close bond.
While Maybelle is clearly living the good life now, her start in the world wasn’t as peachy. She was first spotted as a piglet running along a Georgia highway with another pig, believed to be her sister, after their likely escape from death after falling off of a transport truck. After rescue, she was sent to Farm Sanctuary’s location in New York. As fate would have it, her future parents Tracey Stewart and Jon Stewart were taking a tour of the sanctuary and fell in love with them right away.
When Jon Stewart announced he would be retiring and starting a farm sanctuary in New Jersey, it was a natural fit that these Maybelle and her sister would join them. Now, Maybelle is living the life of luxury at the sanctuary, enjoying belly rubs all day
