A Little Corella perched on a branch, with wings outstretched, at Herdsman Lake in Perth, Western Australia.

More than 200 Little Corellas — highly social and intelligent native Australian birds — have allegedly been poisoned in New South Wales. Found lifeless across neighbourhoods, many were discovered lying on their backs, a grim sign of suspected pesticide use.

This isn’t just a tragedy — it’s a warning. The New South Wales Environmental Protection Authority states that pesticide misuse is illegal, with potential fines reaching $2 million for corporations. Yet, no one has been held accountable.

Australia is home to some of the most unique wildlife on Earth. Nearly half of its bird species live nowhere else. If authorities don’t act fast, more native species could be at risk.

The investigation is underway, but pressure is needed. Sign the petition now to demand justice and real protection for Australia’s vulnerable wildlife.
