NRA Helps Make Eating Dogs and Cats Legal in PA. Here’s What Stephen Colbert has to say About It

The Pennsylvania State Senate has passed a board stating that anyone who “[b]reeds, keeps, sells, offers for sale or transfers a dog or cat for the purpose of human consumption” would be subject to up to seven years in prison. Sounds like something we can Support! Unfortunately, the bill never made it to the house for the final vote

This was is in part due to the lobbying from the National Rifle Association. You can read all about the news here, but for Green Monsters, the news is just sad. Let’s sit back and watch this Stephen Colbert skit instead. Here’s what he has to say about this:

It wasn’t the aspect of eating dogs that the NRA is opposing per se, but they didn’t agree with one provision banning pigeon shoots, where a live pigeon is shot out electronic boxes while shooters fire at them in the air.

So because the NRA doesn’t want to stop launching and shooting pigeons (ugh), it’s still safe for Pennsylvania to serve cat and dog meat for human consumption. So  you’re safe for now, White Castle, as Stephen says!

We have to love Stephen for making us laugh, even when it’s about a serious subject like this.
