This heartwarming story is nothing short of a miracle!
Poppy arrived at the Ruff Start Rescue Center at the end of June. The rescue team quickly realized that Poppy was pregnant. After giving birth to her puppies, she tragically passed away after her last puppy was born. While the rescue team was taking care of all the puppies, something extraordinary happened!
Two weeks after Poppy had given birth and sadly passed away, another pup named Pepper came into the picture. Pepper came in from Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota. It turns out that, like Poppy, Pepper had also lost a litter of baby puppies. The rescue team gradually started introducing Poppy’s newborn puppies to Pepper, and within a matter of minutes, Pepper started treating the pups like they were her own!
