Locals Outraged at Repeatedly Finding Geese and Ducks With Blowgun Darts in Them

Locals in El Reno, Oklahoma, are outraged as they keep finding geese and ducks with blowgun darts through them. The clear act of animal abuse is happening at the local Legion Park, and the residents want answers.

“I can’t say anything more than it’s heartbreaking. I have never seen this kind of thing go on,” a concerned resident named Pam told Oklahoma News 4.

Pam told the outlet that she and others have noticed the aftermath of someone sooting these animals.

“We’ve seen several metal darts in them,” said Pam.

The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation has said that they sent a game warden to the park to monitor the situation.

The ducks and geese have been found with blowgun darts sticking out the side of their head and in their bodies.

“They have a metal rod and they have barbs so once that is in the animal, it can’t be pulled out,” said Pam. “So, they’re just left to suffer and die.”

Shotting a goose or waterfowl is considered a federal crime, but because the ducks are considered domestic, they are not in the jurisdiction of the local department. Some residents have said they are working on a plan to see if they can help the animals and catch whoever is doing this.

Unfortunately, this is not the only place where this has happened or is happening in. Currently, Brigham City, Utah, is having the same issues with an animal abuser shooting ducks with darts.

This is not ok, and it is baffling that there are people out there that will abuse and kill animals for fun.
