It’s so easy to judge a book by its cover. Even when someone is doing something incredibly compassionate like adopting an animal, it’s very easy to treat the process like a “shopping experience” and look for the youngest and cutest animals. This can easily leave out senior animals or ones that have deformities.

Romeo, the kitty in the video above, for example, was born with a deformity which caused him to look a little different than your typical cat. Although Romeo is clearly as playful and rambunctious as any other kitty, he was rejected by all who saw him, seemingly destined to never have a forever home to call his own. Fortunately, the sweet people at Santuario Compasión Animal stepped in and gave this adorable kitty a chance!

Now Romeo is in the safe, loving, and capable hands of this sanctuary and will live out his days somewhere where he is not only accepted for who he is but loved and celebrated. Romeo is a wonderful reminder that, like humans, no animal is perfect but each and every one of them deserves love. Good luck, Romeo!
