Chilean college students Violeta Caro Pinda and Felipe Carrasco Guzman created the “Estoy Aquí” (I Am Here) project to make invisible stray dogs in Chile visible using balloons that say “scratch me,” “don’t leave me,” “play with me,” and “hug me” in Spanish.
The amazing video below follows volunteers as they tie balloons onto strays in Santiago, Chile. Each balloon contains phrases (in Spanish), such as “Do not mistreat me,” “Scratch my neck” and “Give me love.”
Santiago is home to thousands of street dogs that have been abandoned by their owners and now roam the city.
Watch how the balloons transform the dogs’ lives.
