Recently, there has been an incredible upswell of anti-Sea World and captive cetacean campaigns lead by none other than kids. From the amazing teen who was inspired to petition a local high school’s prom at Sea World after watching “Blackfish” to this groups of awesome junior activists sending the clear message that, no they do NOT want to be taken to see captive dolphins for entertainment.
With a clear demonstration that the times are finally changing, kids are taking to the screen and making a video that calls viewers to get on Facebook and share the message. Harnessing the power of social media, this campaign is sure to go viral among teens and adults alike spreading the very important message that captivity is cruel.
The video is sponsored by the Dolphin Project, an incredible group that is currently involved in the legal suit against the Taiji Whale Museum called “Action for Angel.” Bringing light to the way dolphins end up in concrete tanks for our entertainment, the Dolphin Project is working to end the brutal Taiji dolphin hunt and annual round-up of dolphins. The dolphins that are not slaughtered by hunters are sold into captivity, like Angel, the rare albino dolphin trapped in the Taiji Whale Museum.
The endless cycle of cruelty wrought on some of the most majestic animals of our oceans has got to stop and if we don’t intend to do it, then the next generation certainly does! Share this video with everyone you know and help spread this urgently important message for dolphins!
