Detroit Pit Crew Dog Rescue is sharing the story of Justice, a poor dog who is in need of a lot of love and affection. Witnesses saw Justice being pulled along on a bike by a cord until he lost consciousness. The man then got off the bike and began beating the dog … with the bike. Thankfully, some kind residents intervened and saved Justice from his abuser and then called Detroit Pit Crew Dog Rescue for help.

We wish that Justice’s story was a unique one, but this is not the first time we have heard of a dog being dragged down the street. If a pet owner can no longer care for the member of their family they chose to bring into their home, there are so many other ways of getting them responsibly rehomed that do not involve this kind of abuse.
Detroit Pit Crew Dog Rescue is a crew of street volunteers who work together to get as many stray, injured, pregnant, and destitute dogs off the streets as possible. If you are able to help Donate towards Justice’s medical care or want to keep updated on his condition, please get in touch.

I agree with the others of course. Too often abusers walk away totally free, free to do more damage, to hurt more people (with two or four legs).
However I would like to ask you PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE: stop using the words "pet" and "owner". We own things not living beings and "pet" is quite a diminutive term. Words ARE important, like using "it" for animals: terrible, and so many people still use it. It is up to us to make the changes we wan in the world (Gandhi\’s words come to mind here). Behind each word there is a mentality, a vision of the world.
Why not saying the "animal\’s guardian". This redefines the mentality. It is so important. Thank you.
