Critically Ill Puppies Found Behind Abandoned Home Finally Get the Care They Need (PHOTOS)

We really can’t believe this! A kind person recently found FIVE critically ill puppies behind an abandoned home in Atlanta, Georgia. The person brought the puppies to the shelter in Fulton County, where the staff and volunteers quickly alerted Rescue Does Rock NYC, a foster, and volunteer based rescue group based in New York City. When you think of puppies, immediately what comes to mind is wiggly bodies, lots of energy and bright, happy eyes. Puppies shouldn’t be fighting for their lives!

Barely weighing four pounds and estimated to be no more than six weeks old, the puppies were immediately rushed to the emergency veterinary specialty hospital. 

“They all have terrible mange, infections, are anemic and one of the pups is on oxygen,” Rescue Dogs Rock NYC said on Facebook. 

The most critical puppy of the litter barely has a body temperature of 94 degrees. Veterinarians fear he may be septic. He is currently on oxygen with veterinarians doing everything they can to save his life, but his prognosis remains guarded. 

It’s unknown what happened to the puppies mother. Regardless, the puppies deserve a fighting chance.
