Is it a mop? Is it a muppet? Nope, this is Tobey. Tobey was a shelter dog, hoping to get adopted. Unfortunately, dogs that look like Tobey don’t get adopted as quickly, and the shelter he was in was a “high kill” one. That’s when the folks of Hollywood Grooming stepped in. They gave him one helluva makeover! They washed him, gave him a trim and a blow dry. And what a transformation!
Tobey went from looking like a bedraggled muppet to looking like the plushest snuggle-hound you could imagine. It’s no wonder he was adopted the very next day! We’re happy for Tobey, and we’re thankful there are people out there willing to give dogs like Tobey a makeover to help him find a home. But we also hope everyone can remember next time they’re looking for a furry family member at a shelter, that the animals you see there are not “at their best.” Just because they look a bit scruffy when you see them there, doesnt mean they won’t clean up just as good as Tobey here. When you’re looking to adopt a shelter animal, remember not to judge the book by the cover. Look past the dirt and the wild hair-dos, and search for some signs that indicate a good personality. You might just find a diamond in the rough, and the perfect animal companion for you!
