This Girl Has the Best Prom Date … Her Dachshund (in a Matching Dress)

“Anywhere that a dog is allowed, I bring her.” That is how 18-year-old  Brenda Sierra feels about her seven-year-old rescue dog, Sasha … and is a sentiment that many dog guardians share. As any dog lover will tell you, dogs are family and anything and everything will be done to ensure their well-being.

So when Brenda’s school prom came around, of course Sasha would go with her. Not only did the adorable Dachshund go to prom with her teenage BFF, but Brenda made sure Sasha had a matching dress for the dance. That’s right, using extra fabric from her hemmed dress and a hot-glue gun, Brenda helped Sasha become the belle of the ball.

Brenda told BuzzFeed Sasha was very patient while waiting for her dress to be ready. “I had to keep taking it on and off of her. She was really obedient.” 

A photo shoot was definitely in order. And Sasha loved all of the attention. “She was really happy with everyone. She was running around in the dress,” Brenda said. 

Brenda posted the photos from the shoot on her Twitter account and people just can’t handle the magic that is Brenda and Sasha. The photos have since gone viral, with over 15,000 retweets. 

Brenda also said Sasha is her best friend, “I do everything with her.” And that’s exactly how it should be!

Keep on being the star of the show, Sasha! While the photos of Brenda and Sasha’s matching prom outfits are definitely adorable, this sweet story also serves as a reminder that dogs deserve nothing but the best.
