When Frank Lee, the cow, jumped out of a truck en route to the slaughterhouse last month, it was arguably the first day of the rest of his life. Everything changed for him. Instead of living the horrors of being a cow in the meat industry, destined for pain, cruelty, and ultimately death, Frank got the opportunity of a lifetime: a spot at Farm Sanctuary! And to make this deal even sweeter, this was made possible thanks to the help of Jon and Tracey Stewart!

Frank, who arrived at the sanctuary in early April, has been getting accustomed to the feeling of sweet freedom! His story would not truly be complete, however, until he joined the herd. This integration could not happen for several weeks since Frank needed to heal from pneumonia as well as from his neutering procedure and the dart wounds he had gotten from his brave escape. Well, we are happy to report that after three long weeks, Frank is officially hangin’ with his herd!

Cows are social animals who feel much safer in a large group, so this introduction was momentous for Frank! Thankfully, everything went smoothly, and as you can see in the video above, Frank instantly bonded with his fellow cattle friends, and seems to be having the time of his adorable life munchin’ on grass! Despite being labeled as “dangerous” and “fierce” bovine during his escape, it’s clear that, like most cows, he was just terribly misunderstood! This video is proof that Frank is only a fighter when he needs to be.
