This Rescued Elephant Calf Carries a Bucket of Sheep Food to Keep His BFF by His Side (VIDEO)

Hoedspruit Endangered Species Center (HESC) is a non-profit organization in South Africa whose core mission is the conservation of rare, vulnerable, and endangered species. Although they are most known for their Conservation efforts with cheetahs, they have many other beautiful animals at their sanctuary, including an adorable elephant calf named Shawu and his curly-haired buddy Lammie the sheep.

The above video shows how Shawu has discovered an ingenious way to keep his sheep pal by his side at all times – he uses his trunk to carry Lammie’s food bucket with him wherever they go! You can see Lammie trotting close by with an eye on his food as Shawu swings the bucket around. The playful smile on the face of the young elephant reveals he may know exactly what he is doing – carry food, and friends will follow!
