We’ve got some great news for coffee lovers –  so fellow plant-based eaters, rejoice! Now, when we go into a Dunkin’ Donuts location, we don’t have to settle for ordering our coffee black. Thanks to consumer pressure, Dunkin’ Donuts will be adding almond milk to its menu!

Through a new partnership with almond company, Blue Diamond, select Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants nationwide will now offer sweetened, vanilla-flavored Almond Breeze Almondmilk as an option in their hot or iced coffee and lattes. Since Dunkin’ Donuts is the world’s largest coffee and baked goods chain with more than 7,500 locations throughout the U.S., this is huge news!

Our friends at Compassion Over Killing first started contacting Dunkin’ Donuts in 2008, highlighting the growing consumer interest in healthier and more humane options and asked the company to offer vegan items accordingly. On its website, the organization said, “We then reached out to individual locations and successfully persuaded several of them to start offering soy milk. Soon after, we launched our Dunkin’ Cruelty campaign website aimed at urging consumers across the country to let Dunkin’ know that a growing number of people are asking for meat-, egg-, and dairy-free options.”

This news shows that each time you make a purchase, you are making a vote with your dollar, and that consumers have the power to implement change for the better in our food system.

A move like this from such a popular chain will hopefully spur all customers to give the delicious, dairy-free alternative a try, whether they are vegan or not. We can attest that smooth, creamy vanilla almond milk tastes fabulous in coffee! To see if your local Dunkin’ serves almond milk, visit the DD Store Locator and search for a special “AM” symbol.

  1. If you wanted almond milk why not go somewhere that serves it? Why bully a business into selling something they don\’t want to because your to lazy to go elsewhere? I hate bullies !
