Yogi, a pit bull, spent over 800 days at the Humane Society Naples in Florida after being surrendered due to his previous human’s housing challenges. Yogi had been with his original family since he was a puppy, but due to breed and size restrictions in their community, they couldn’t keep him. His time at the shelter was prolonged by his breed, which often faces longer waits for adoption, and his struggle to warm up to strangers.
Despite these obstacles, the shelter staff dedicated themselves to showcasing Yogi’s true personality—a playful dog who loves swimming, rope toys, and forming deep bonds with those he trusts. Their persistence paid off when, after 802 days, Yogi found his perfect match. The new human took the time to understand Yogi’s needs, and after several careful introductions, Yogi was finally adopted.
Now in a loving home, Yogi’s transformation is complete, showing that with patience and care, every dog can find their forever family.
