The monkey mom in this video, like many moms, is pretty great at her job. This brave little forager snuck into a human home in Kandy, a Sri Lankan city, to gather some breakfast for her baby (who was snuggly wrapped around her waist the whole time). Lucky for us, whoever lived in the home got it all on camera, and the mom and her baby made a clean getaway with some of the food.
Monkey families like this one face incredible obstacles in the wild. In 2008, Science Daily reported that nearly half of all primate species are endangered, and population numbers have hung around this unstable area since then.
With this in mind, we can’t really fault this diligent mama for rolling up her sleeves and doing whatever she needs to to make sure her little baby is well-fed. Hey, all moms would say they want the best for their kiddos – so why should this mother want any less?
