When a woman named Nikita in Mumbai, India came across a paralyzed dog who had been hit by a car and left out in the rain, she didn’t just walk by and forget about the suffering animal. Instead, she called her friend Bhavin Bhatt, who has a lot of experiencing rescuing stray animals, and asked for his help to save the poor dog.
Bhavin immediately took the dog, which they named Manchu, to Dr. Dave’s Pet Clinic and Surgery Centre for attention. Once in the vet’s care, Manchu was X-rayed and given a blood test, both appeared to be normal, but the pup was still unable to walk.
After an MRI, it was evident the problem was neurological. Many told Bhavin that euthanizing Manchu would be the best bet instead of the dog languishing in a vegetative state. “Manchu was paralyzed. The accident had caused a nerve compression in its spine. Most vets said there was no hope, and suggested to euthanize Manchu to relive it of pain” said Bhavin. But 28-year-old Bhavin refused to give up, and his determination paid off!
Bhavin says that Manchu has taught him the most important lesson of life, “not give up and believe in miracles.”
If you’re feeling inspired by this story, you can also be a hero for animals. Simply by volunteering at your local animal shelter, you can make a difference in the lives of homeless animals. And please, always adopt and never shop!

Thank you Nikita for not ignoring the suffering of another sentient being. And thank you Bhavin for your unwavering compassion and determination. Your proved the \’experts\’ wrong and saved a beautiful life. You both are truly inspiring.
If the world was filled with Nikitas, Bhavans, and many others we see who rescue animals instead of Donald Trump and all the other horrid people who abuse and kill animals (and people) the world could be a good place to live. thanks to Nikita for not just walking by and to Bhavan for being optimistic and caring enough to persevere.
Thank you, Nikita!
