A deaf, red-nosed Pit Bull named Casper has been left heartbroken after being returned to the Carolina Big Hearts Big Barks Rescue (CBHBB). While the circumstances of his return are unknown, what matters most now is lifting his spirits and self-esteem. According to the CBHBB Facebook page, Casper was always a playful, fun-loving, cuddle muffin, but the trauma of being abandoned has taken a serious toll on his emotional state.

Casper is so depressed he doesn’t even perk up to greet the volunteers he used to adore!

We can’t imagine the pain this precious boy is feeling, but we can share his story in the hopes that someone, somewhere will offer to foster him. By fostering, you are allowing shelters to open up another space, which allows them to save another animal in need. For the animal being fostered, it means having a safe and stable place to recover from whatever situation they have been rescued from. Casper needs emotional Support that can only be provided at a stable home with personal attention. Casper has so much love to give and deserves the same back.

  1. My beloved golden died in February, and I just cannot bring myself to get another dog. I am always in shock at how people treat their pets. I have always treated my dog with such respect that these stories are so heartbreaking! To just abandon your pet is so cruel! If I had it in me I would adopt every dog , because they deserve it) that needed a home. I am at this point, still depressed that I could not do another dog justice….

    1. Pat, I was too, went into deep depression over the loss of my Rotti when she passed. The only thing that saved my life once again, was the love of a pit rescue puppy that no one wanted. The best way to honor the loss of your beloved golden is to save the life of dog that no one wants. Get off the couch and go save a dog, you will never regret it!

  2. Some years ago my husband returned from his morning walk and asked me to look out our glass paneled back door. There was the most darling little poodle looking back at me. I immediately invited her inside. He told me some construction workers told him she had been dumped earlier in the day."Missy" was our adored companion and friend for many years until she went gently to dog heaven to "wait for us." I have no doubt we will see her again along with other beloved small friends who have left us.

  3. whatever happened to this poor dog to make him deaf was not his fault. someone out there should at least foster home and give him some love and security.
