There are few things in life that are more rewarding than rescuing an animal. In their simple looks and gestures, they somehow manage to convey a limitless amount of gratitude and appreciation. So when the kind folks at Edgar’s Mission Farm Sanctuary in Victoria, Australia heard about a bowlegged calf who needed a home, they were quick to arrive at its rescue.

Meet Pixie the calf. This shy little lady arrived here after her inability to walk put her in danger of being sent to become veal. Luckily for poor Pixie, there are caring people all over the world, who offer help and sanctuary to farm animals.

Many people don’t believe that animals have feelings. Farm animals, in particular, catch the brunt of this and they are often abused in the process of becoming food. Factory farms and other industrialized industries have degraded animals to the point where they are barely treated like living things at all. Some are born, grow up and go die in the same dark cage.

Thankfully, there are places like Edgar’s Mission Farm Sanctuary. This amazing sanctuary’s mission is kindness and they are committed to providing a safe haven for farm animals. Located on 153 sprawling acres in the Macedon Mountains, Edgar’s Mission gives animals a place where they can enjoy love and dignity as they live out their lives in peace, causing us all to ask ourselves the same question. “If we could live happy and healthy lives without harming others, why wouldn’t we?”
