Bobi, the World’s Oldest Dog Ever, Turns 31 and Celebrates With Huge Birthday Party

Turning the pages of the calendar for the 31st time, Bobi, an unassuming Portuguese dog, has garnered attention from around the globe as the oldest dog ever, as certified by the Guinness World Records. The remarkable pooch hailing from the serene village of Conqueiros in Leiria, Portugal, has seen many historic moments and trends come and go, from the release of the first “Air Bud” movie to the sensation of “Who Let the Dogs Out”.

Born on May 11, 1992, on his family’s farm, Bobi secured his esteemed titles in February, shortly after a 23-year-old canine named Spike was recognized as the World’s Oldest Living Dog by Guinness World Records. However, Bobi’s record-breaking age soon came to light, making him the reigning champion of canine longevity.

Bobi’s 31st birthday celebration was nothing short of extraordinary. His owner, Leonel Costa, ensured a traditional Portuguese bash, which drew a crowd of over a hundred people, some of whom even journeyed from overseas to join the festivities.

The recognition of being the world’s oldest dog has thrust Bobi into the limelight, with people from all corners of the globe – Europe, the USA, and even Japan – arriving to take a picture with him.
