This has been a huge year for plant-based food company Beyond Meat thanks to their delicious Beyond Burger. The company recently announced a partnership between grocery store chain, Kroger, bringing their Beyond Burger to 1,300 grocery stores nationwide. Not only that but, the company also teamed up with the largest food distributor in the U.S, Sysco, further helping the burger reach tens of thousands people, making healthier, plant-based burgers that are better for animals and the planet more accessible than ever. Oh, and they also got an investment boost from none other than Leonardo DiCaprio.
And Beyond Meat doesn’t seem to be slowing down one bit as the company continues to expand their distribution! The Beyond Burger can now be found at 153 Shaw locations throughout Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Vermont.
With this and the company’s recent expansion to Stater Bros., Raley’s, Hy-Vee, Bristol Farms, Mariano’s, and HEB Central Market stores nationwide … the Beyond Burger can now be found at a whopping 4,300 locations! Woohoo! Want to see if a store near you has the yummy burger in stock? Check this out.
If you’ve never heard of the Beyond Burger before, this vegan burger has been widely lauded for it’s spot-on meaty and juicy flavor and texture profile AND it actually “bleeds” beet blood when you make it. Additionally, each Beyond Burger patty boasts an impressive 20 grams of plant-based pea protein per patty, not to mention it contains no soy, gluten, or GMOs.
The popularity of the Beyond Burger isn’t surprising. More people than ever are reducing their meat consumption and opting for plant-based options instead. A recent report by global market research firm Mintel shows that more people than ever are open to trying meatless burgers, a trend that is being driven largely by Millennials; 64 percent have tried meatless burgers versus 28 percent of Baby Boomers.
“The rapid growth in demand and distribution for the Beyond Burger speaks to a powerful shift among consumers toward plant-based protein, one we are pleased to respond to and further fuel with the taste and overall performance of The Beyond Burger,” said Ethan Brown, founder, and CEO of Beyond Meat told Business Wire.
We are living in a time where the food space is rapidly evolving. The Beyond Burger is just one of the new innovations in the plant-based food space that is helping those who still crave the taste and texture of meat to cut back. Not only is Beyond Meat seeking to change the way Americans eat, they have their sights set on what may very well be a global food revolution.
