Watch 150 Baby Sea Turtles Run Into the Ocean for the First Time

Who doesn’t love baby turtles? They’re not only adorable, but they possess this undeniable drive for life. When sea turtles are born, they have an innate instinct that tells them to follow the moon and find their way across the beach and into the ocean. This journey can be a perilous one for little turtles who get lost along the way, or unfortunately become the snack of a larger predator. One predator sea turtles also need to look out for is humans. Some humans have been known to steal baby turtles for sale into the exotic pet trade, or for personal pets.

Many species of sea turtle are endangered because of these dangers, along with a number of others relating to Pollution. However, the 150 baby sea turtles featured in this video have been primed for success thanks to the kind humans who are guiding them straight to their new home. These turtles were hatched on Lankayan Island off the coast of Borneo and will make their way into the Pacific (hopefully) to lead long happy lives!
