Do you remember little Ndotto? While his impressive entrance into the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust’s orphan elephant nursery was pretty unforgettable, we will run you through the details just in case. Ndotto was discovered all alone in the Ndoto mountains, after which he was named, and a kind Samburu tribesman walked an incredible distance to contact someone who could help arrange the rescue of this little creature.
After being at DSWT’s orphan elephant nursery for only one week, Ndotto is thriving! He is certainly a tiny little thing, but his propensity for milk is a good sign he will be growing quickly. Watch this curious little elephant trot around his sanctuary home and follow his caretaker as diligently as a new puppy. Although the circumstances that lead Ndotto to be at DSWT are unfortunate, there is no denying that he could not have found himself in a better place. Seeing his trunk investigate the camera is sure to melt your heart. Way to go Ndotto!
