It is more than okay to permit yourself to have a treat or indulgence that you want just for your enjoyment. You don’t have to be “good” according to your terms to earn it or justify it.

When you allow yourself to fully enjoy treats without feelings of guilt or shame, it can have a positive effect on your mental health! You may start to feel more energized and content, which can help you maintain your healthy habits in the long run.

On the other hand, when you don’t permit yourself to indulge in treats or small pleasures that bring you joy, you may begin to feel depleted, resentful, and angry. Over the long term, you may also find yourself craving comfort and feeling the urge to reach for comfort wherever you can, even if it means breaking your healthy habits more than you’d like.

Finding balance in your life and giving yourself a little boost when you feel that you need it will help you maintain a healthy relationship with yourself and keep you on track with the habits that nourish your body!
