During the holiday season, it can seem as if there are endless things to get done, which can bring unwanted stress and anxiety in a time that is meant to be enjoyed with loved ones. While the holiday season is often associated with these feelings of stress for many people, it doesn’t have to be that way! Dr. Mona Vand shares the power of taking time to practice self-care and de-stress.

@monavand the holidays can be stressful for a lot of us. here are some tips to relax and stay in a good headspace 💫 #fyp #wellness ♬ Love Songs x No Police Funk Mash Up – L.Dre

Things as simple as mantras, meditation, and a warm cup of herbal tea can help keep you centered and in a good headspace during the holiday chaos. The great thing about these practices is that you can do them anywhere. The next time you start to feel overwhelmed, try taking a few big deep breaths and repeating some of these mantras to yourself or out loud:

  • I treat myself with kindness
  • I am patient with myself
  • I am excited for the opportunities of today
  • I bring positivity to the lives of others
  • I will expect the best
  • I take it one day at a time

These practices are truly about doing something positive for ourselves, so we can recharge and show up as the best versions of ourselves. Holidays are meant to be an enjoyable time, and these tips can help bring you back into the present moment.
