DIY Tea Tree Oil Shampoo

After years of purchasing Paul Mitchell’s Tea Tree Oil Shampoo, I started making my own and haven’t turned back since! My blend combines coconut milk and tea tree oil and works well for all types of hair, including color-treated hair! I can make an entire bottle of shampoo, an 8-ounce bottle for a couple of dollars!

Also worth noting, this blend is also excellent for natural curl patterns, like my own!

What You’ll Need to Make Tea Tree Oil Shampoo

• Tea tree essential oil — HERO pick: the signature ingredient
• Liquid castile soap (Dr. Bronner’s) — the gentle cleansing base
• Canned coconut milk — makes it creamy and conditioning
• Vitamin E oil — natural preservative + conditioner
• 8 oz squeeze bottle or jar — combine, shake, and store (~a month)

Ingredients:

• 1/8 cup coconut milk
• 2/3 cup baking soda
• 1/2  teaspoon of Vitamin E oil
• 20 drops of tea tree oil
• 1/2 tsp olive oil
• 1/4 cup filtered water

Instructions:

1. Combine all ingredients in a jar.
2. Shake well to mix.
3. This blend will last in-shower for up to a month.
4. Shake before each use.
5. Use about a teaspoon every time you shampoo.
6. Enjoy!
