After years of purchasing Paul Mitchell’s Tea Tree Oil Shampoo, I started making my own and haven’t turned back since! My blend combines coconut milk and tea tree oil and works well for all types of hair, including color-treated hair! I can make an entire bottle of shampoo, an 8-ounce bottle for only $0.20!

Also worth noting, this blend is also excellent for natural curl patterns, like my own!

Ingredients:

  • 1/8 cup coconut milk
  • 2/3 cup baking soda
  • 1/2  teaspoon of Vitamin E oil
  • 20 drops of tea tree oil
  • 1/2 tsp olive oil
  • 1/4 cup filtered water

Instructions:

  1. Combine all ingredients in a jar.
  2. Shake well to mix.
  3. This blend will last in-shower for up to a month.
  4. Shake before each use.
  5. Use about a teaspoon every time you shampoo.
  6. Enjoy!

  1. How do you use this exactly? I made up a batch and rubbed it into my hair…. but how do you spread a teaspoon full into a full head of hair? Long hair. So I used extra but then I couldn\’t get it all rinsed out! I must say…. the areas that are well rinsed look great… so alive and glistening… I have totally white hair and this is going to make it look beautiful if I can just figure out how to use it!
