Andry José Hernández Romero, a kind and creative 31-year-old gay asylum-seeker from Venezuela, legally sought safety in the U.S. But instead of protection, he was deported by ICE to CECOT, a violent maximum-security prison in El Salvador, two days before his court hearing. He followed every rule. He has no criminal record. Now, no one knows if he’s alive.

U.S. officials allegedly refuse to confirm his condition, speak to his family, or even conduct a welfare check. Even members of Congress asking questions are being ignored. Andry deserves dignity, safety, and justice—not silence.

This is state-enabled cruelty hiding behind bureaucracy. We must act. Demand his immediate release and that he be granted asylum. His life matters.
