Lung cancer is no longer just a threat for smokers—recent research shows that non-smokers are now being diagnosed at alarming rates, with air Pollution playing a key role. In 2022, over 200,000 cases of adenocarcinoma, a deadly form of lung cancer, were directly linked to air Pollution, and that number is expected to rise as Pollution worsens worldwide. Non-smokers, who may never have been exposed to other known risk factors, are often diagnosed too late, with little hope of survival.
Lung cancer is already the leading cause of cancer deaths, and non-smokers now make up a significant portion of those cases. This is a crisis that demands urgent attention. We need the World Health Organization (WHO) to investigate the link between air Pollution and lung cancer and implement policies to reduce Pollution and protect public health. Sign the petition now to demand immediate action from the WHO!
