Billie Eilish, known for both her music and activism, is taking yet another step toward climate action with the announcement of her upcoming “OVERHEATED” conference, a U.S.-based event in partnership with her mother, Maggie Baird’s nonprofit, Support + Feed. This gathering is scheduled for Nov. 3 at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena and will also be accessible to a global audience through a livestream on Eilish’s YouTube channel.
The event aims to rally climate activists, with Baird emphasizing the importance of collective action. “At this time, more than ever, we need everyone to be a climate activist,” she shared, expressing her excitement to connect with attendees across the country.
In addition to Eilish and Baird, an impressive lineup of climate advocates and speakers will lead discussions on topics like sustainable fashion, food choices, political engagement, and positive storytelling. Featured guests include Saad Amer, Xiye Bastida, Helena Gualinga, Dr. Ayana Elizabeth Johnson, and many others, each contributing their expertise on practical actions that attendees can take to help the environment.
For Eilish, climate advocacy is nothing new. On her recent Hit Me Hard and Soft tour, she worked with REVERB, a nonprofit committed to reducing the environmental footprint of large events. By ensuring plant-based food options, minimizing single-use plastics, and using sustainable materials for merchandise, Eilish has made sustainability an essential part of her performances.
Eilish’s collaboration with Support + Feed started in 2020, and since then, the nonprofit has provided over 600,000 plant-based meals worldwide to combat food insecurity and mitigate climate impacts. Reflecting on her mother’s work, Eilish voiced her admiration during the organization’s first fundraiser in 2023, saying, “I’m so impressed by you.”
Tickets for the 2024 OVERHEATED conference are available now through Ticketmaster and Support + Feed’s website.
