The Turpin children victims endured a terrible tragedy as victims of child abuse, and could use all the help they can get. Fortunately, the 13 kids have been receiving that from a furry friend. Raider, a three year old labrador, has been working as a therapy dog for the children for months now. He is also a member of the Corona Police Department. At the request of the children, Raider was with them as they faced their parents in the courtroom.

While Raider can’t erase the damage done to these poor children, his assistance is vital to their recovery. Comfort dogs have proven that they aid in reducing anxiety, depression, and symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorders. They work with and comfort a wide range of individuals, including hospital patients, PTSD victims, and more. Hopefully Raider’s presence give these children some peace as they try to move forward.
