So many senior dogs are abandoned or mistreated, and in need of homes. Senior dog, Canela was ditched at a shelter because she was “too old to do anything anymore,” and another senior dog was left at a shelter emaciated. Thankfully, these dogs were adopted and found their furever homes where surely they are loved just as much as the dog in the video above!
As seen, the gentleman takes very good care of his senior dog. The dog is wrapped up in a blanket inside a bin that’s been made homey for him. There are also little wheels on the bottom of the bin and a leash attached, so that the dog can still go on “walks.” He’s rolled around so he can still comfortable enjoy the outdoors. There’s also Japanese writing on the box: “パオ号 16才 パオ号i” which translates to “Pao, 16 years old.” It’s the dog’s name and age. It also has the man’s surname “Ootsuki.”
As Mr. Ootsuki and Pao prove, there can be a special bond and relationship between someone and their senior dog just like with a younger dog. If you’d like to adopt a dog someday but hadn’t considered a senior dog, check out Why You Should Consider Adopting a Senior Dog.
