Over and over, we have seen pigs who, with their sweet temperament, defy all the undeserved stereotypes people tend to have about them. Anyone who only takes a moment to actually learn what pigs are like when they are in a safe and loving environment will see what sweet animals they can be and how wrong our misconceptions about them are.

Just look at Sister Mary Frances, the rescued pig in the video, who not only would win the first prize in a Best Name contest but quite possibly would also beat a lot of animals when it comes to the number of pets she wants! And she doesn’t shy away from demanding that attention at all. She’s very lucky indeed to have a caretaker who is ready to give her all the belly rubs she requires.

Sister Mary Frances lives at the Catskill Animal Sanctuary – a New York organization rescuing farm animals and striving to inspire social change. Not every pig is as lucky as her. All over the world, there are numerous farm animals living in terrible conditions and suffering abuse.

We can help organizations like the Catskill Animal Sanctuary continue their fantastic work and save as many animals as they possibly can. Click here to visit the sanctuary’s website and learn how to support them.
