Coyotes have been given a bad rap due to sometimes aggressive encounters with people, pets, and livestock. Thus, people have set to hunting and trapping them through a variety of inhumane methods. Evidence shows that coyotes and other predators attacking livestock account for much fewer livestock deaths than various health issues do. Plus, killing coyotes is ineffective at minimizing interactions between them and pets or humans. There are so many ways to minimize interactions with coyotes that are not only much more effective but also much more humane.
Coyotes’ reputation can make people forget that they are still living beings, capable of feeling love, fear, sadness, and joy. However, this video can change that.
Dakota was raised alone and never got the chance to interact with other coyotes. Thus, when Saveafox Rescue rescued him, they could not put him with other coyotes. Experts told them it would be too difficult and lead to aggression towards the other coyotes. Luckily, Dakota has a human pal to keep him company!
Mikayla and Dakota love hanging out with each other and cuddling! Dakota shares his toys and snuggles up as close as possible whenever Mikayla visits. You can see in his behavior and hear in his voice how excited he is to see her! This video is so adorable and will totally change your perception of coyotes!
