Bull running and fighting, a tradition deeply rooted in Spanish culture, is often seen as a thrilling and adrenaline-pumping event. However, behind the excitement lies a harsh reality of danger and cruelty, not only for the participants but especially for the animals involved. While some may argue that this age-old practice is a vital part of cultural heritage, the disturbing footage in the following videos reveals a different story.

1. Two Gored Humans

In 2014, two men were gored on the third day of the Running of the Bulls in Pamplona. One man from the United Kingdom and another from the United States were just two of hundreds of people who gathered for the annual event in Northern Spain.

2. Matadors Injured

In Madrid’s Las Ventas bullring, three professional matadors were severely injured. Three matadors were severely injured at Madrid’s Las Ventas bullring, leading to the suspension of the event. The worst injury was suffered by David Mora, who was trampled by the bull Deslío, resulting in severe leg injuries. Jiménez Fortes and Antonio Nazaré were also injured, with Fortes sustaining a chest injury and Nazaré being gored in the leg. The fate of the bulls was not shared.

3. 19 Injured in Bullfight

A bullfight in Colombia turned into a massacre when the riled-up bull was set out into the ring. The bull, who is forced into these horrific and triggering situations, injured 19 people, after crowds stormed the bullfighting ring.

4. Bull Breaks Legs

A bull broke its legs and was seen dragging itself across the ground during a festival in Mejorada del Campo, near Madrid. The incident was recorded and shared by the Animalist Party Against the Mistreatment of Animals (PACMA).

5. Spanish Matador Killed

In Spain, Matador Victor Barrio died after being gored in the chest by a bull during a live-broadcast fight in Teruel. He is the first Spanish bullfighter to die in the ring since the turn of the century.

As the videos demonstrate, the dangers of bull running and bullfighting extend far beyond the human participants. The suffering and injuries inflicted upon the bulls are undeniable and inexcusable. It’s time to reconsider our Support for such brutal traditions and advocate for the humane treatment of all animals.
