San Francisco animal control officers stopped westbound traffic on Interstate 80 to rescue a frightened rabbit who had managed to make her way to the side of the highway. The California city’s Animal Care & Control Agency received a call from someone who had noticed the imperiled creature when passing by her. Luckily, they leaped into action to save the rabbit from a dangerous situation.
According to a September 15th Facebook post from the agency, three officers stopped traffic and managed to corral the bunny. They then transported her safely to a shelter. The brown-furred bunny has been named Elektra by her rescuers. Elektra will be held at the shelter in hopes that someone will step forward to claim her. If her family is not found, the daredevil rabbit will become available for adoption.
