Groundhog Rescued from Pennsylvania Claw Machine

At a Pennsylvania miniature golf course, a claw machine became the temporary home of an unexpected guest—a live groundhog! On August 6th, employees at Meadows Family Fun Mini Golf in Duncansville were startled to find the curious creature nestled among the stuffed animals inside one of the claw machines.

The Pennsylvania Game Commission—South Central Region quickly responded to the unusual situation. Upon arrival, State Game Warden Salvadore Zaffuto noticed the groundhog‘s head popping out from under the plush toys, surveying the scene. The animal seemed as surprised as the onlookers.

To safely rescue the groundhog, the vending machine company was called in to unlock the claw machine. Warden Zaffuto then carefully retrieved the critter, ensuring their safe release back into the wild.
