Dog Who Survived Acid Attack Gets Makeover in Viral Video

River is a German Shepherd who was left blind in one eye after an acid attack. Additionally, she cannot close that eye. The attack occurred when the pup was living in China although details are unclear. However, the brave dog was rescued and brought to the United Kingdom. Understandably, she is also suspicious of strangers and is sensitive to touch.

Nevertheless, the staff at Doggy Styling was excited to give River her first-ever grooming. Despite her nerves, the groomers were able to remove the part of her undercoat she had shed. River did react to the staff as they brushed and bathed her, but overall the staff said that, given River’s history, the canine did remarkably well. The before and after of the beautiful and brave German Shepherd has gone viral on TikTok where it has received over 128,000 likes. Staff at Doggy Styling say that they hope the video will inspire people to adopt a dog instead of purchasing one from a breeder. Additionally, they hope to bring public attention to the many dogs like River who are still in need of a loving home.
