Stella, a sweet and well-trained dog, has faced an unfortunate series of events that have left her searching for a forever home once again. This lovable pup was first brought to the Associated Humane Popcorn Park Shelter in December 2022 after being abandoned on a busy highway near Newark. Her journey to find a stable home has been a challenging one, with two recent adoption attempts ending in a return to the shelter.
Despite her difficult past, Stella’s spirit remains unbroken. According to a recent post from the shelter, Stella is described as mild-mannered, affectionate, and playful. Her positive nature shines through in every interaction, and she quickly warms up to new people, treating them as potential new friends.
Sandra Hickman from the Associated Humane Societies clarified that Stella’s returns were purely due to unfortunate circumstances. The first adopter struggled with handling Stella on a leash due to their age, while the second adopter’s child developed an allergy to her. These factors were beyond Stella’s control and highlighted the need for a more compatible home for her.
