When Flow arrived at the McKamey Animal Center in Chattanooga, Tennessee shelter staff were unsure if the blind cat would live through the night. It is believed that Flow was hit by a car, which left her with severe facial trauma. Vets had to remove the cat’s eyes, which had ruptured and were causing her intense pain, and reconstruct her broken jaw. Although Flow quickly recovered from these procedures, she was left blind. However, the cat did not let this stop her from becoming a favorite at the shelter. Staff said that the blind cat was very vocal and loved to be petted or brushed.
Eventually, Flow had recovered enough that it was time for the blind cat to find a forever home. The rescue center posted her to their Facebook account. Only a few days later, Flow was adopted! Now the blind cat has a forever home where she can receive all the love and attention she deserves. Shelter staff hope that Flow’s story reminds people to give shelter animals, especially special needs ones, a chance when searching for a new animal companion.
