Of all the different ways to make your morning tofu scramble, this savory scramble, spiced with harissa, is a must-try. Harissa is a Tunisian spice that's somewhat of a catch-all for all kinds of dishes. It adds umami and spicy tastes to this scramble, in addition to tomato, red pepper, and cumin. Serve as a regular tofu scramble, or roll it up in a tortilla for the best breakfast burrito you'll ever have.

Harissa Tofu Scramble [Vegan]

This Recipe is :

Dairy Free Vegan


  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 red bell pepper, chopped
  • 1/2 cup tomatoes, cubed
  • 1-2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup tomato paste
  • 3 tablespoons harissa
  • 8 ounces extra firm tofu, crumbled
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste


  1. Put the olive oil, red pepper, tomatoes, and garlic in a skillet over medium heat. Stir and cook for 2 minutes.
  2. Add the rest of the ingredients, and cook, stirring constantly, for another 5-6 minutes, until the tofu is flavorful. Serve hot.
