Do you ever walk into a room and immediately know who is the life of the party? Well, that’s Arthur – a 19-year-old chimpanzee who is a star in the making. Arthur wastes no time stealing the show in this video posted by Save the Chimps, an organization that rescues primates from medical research laboratories.
The chimp was given a pair of sunglasses as an enrichment toy, and Arthur immediately took to them, strutting his new look with the utmost style. In a hilarious move, the chimp even throws his hands up in the air as if he is showing off in the most adorable runway show ever to hit the chimpanzee style scene. Bow down, humans. Bow down.
While Arthur may be living like a star at Save the Chimps sanctuary now, his life wasn’t always glitz and glamour. Born as a lab chimp, and sold at a young age into the entertainment industry, he spent the majority of his life in a cage. Luckily, he was rescued by New England Anti-Vivisection Society who coordinated with Save the Chimps to provide a permanent home. It’s clear Arthur has come a long way from the young chimpanzee plagued with abnormal behavior he used to be. Rescuers said he is now a large, confident, and high-ranking male in a group called Lou’s family.
