Just when we thought we couldn’t adore Meghan Markle any more than we already do, we just found out something that makes us love her 100 times more! The soon-to-be wife of Prince Harry is a staunch advocate of adopting pets and just recently, news circulated that the high-profile couple is asking for donations to charities in lieu of wedding gifts. Now, our admiration for the former Suits star has grown exponentially … because she eats a plant-based diet on the weekdays!

While speaking to Melissa Greer of Best Health, Meghan shared that she eats vegan during the weekdays in order to remain fit and healthy. ”When I’m filming, I’m conscious of what I eat. I try to eat vegan during the week and then have a little bit more flexibility with what I dig into on the weekends,” said Meghan. She went on to share that it’s all about balance and that, “It’s not a diet; it’s lifestyle eating.”

With this simple shift, Meghan is making a huge, positive impact … just check it out!

As the Royal wedding date approaches on May 19th, 2018, we are delighted to see Meghan continually supporting efforts that help the planet! As many around the world anticipate the Royal wedding and are following Meghan’s every move, the star is setting a powerful example that everyone can incorporate into their day-to-day lives.

Whether it be for animal welfare or environmental concerns, or even health reasons, about one-third of Americans are leaving meat and dairy off their plates and opting for plant-based foods. The rising demand isn’t surprising when you take into account how a whole foods vegan diet has repeatedly been linked to better heart health, prevention of diabetes and cancer, and more. And when you factor in the massive environmental toll of industrialized animal agriculture, eating plant-based is the simplest and most effective solution.

Knowing how dire of a situation the planet is in because of our meat habit, it’s great to see celebrities use their platform to speak up for animals, their health, and the environment! And hey, maybe Meghan’s healthy eating habits will rub off on the rest of the family?

You can learn more about how you can use your food choices for the benefit of the environment and animals (and eat like Meghan!), by joining One Green Planet’s #EatForThePlanet movement.

Um, plant based during the week? THAT\'S CALLED OMNIVOIRE! And One Green Planet is getting all juicy about this--for what? And stop confusing vegan with plant based. File this under \'who freaking cares\'

Part time vegan what a joke. And her new husband is a trophy hunter. Shame on them all. They should be a example to the country but they are above the law. Sickening.

Green Planet/"Eat for the Planet" [forget about the animals, the ones who are being violently slaughtered ]: It\'s not enough to care about how much water is saved, or how much grain is saved, or how much land is saved--without also caring about how many animal lives are spared!

Vegan means more than simply "plant-based." It means more than simply healthy. It means more than simply sustainable. It means sparing the lives of billions of fellow Earthlings. If you can "eat for the planet," you can eat for the animals, too.

It\'s their planet, too!

Ok, something is always better than nothing for those who are spared death, but you cannot be a part-time vegan: probably she eats a plant-based diet when she can. This has nothing to do with being vegan but simply a desire to be healthier. In all the media they said that Harry proposed while they were roasting a chicken. Do I have to infer that it was a weekend?
Harry is not only a hunter, but also a trophy hunter and has killed endangered species. Once in the UK too. Although - because of his family connections everything went quiet after a couple of days and no action was taken. And this as far as he is concerned. I don\'t even start on his disgraceful family of Nazi background (as widely known: they even changed their surname to disguise it). And yes Meghan left her old dog in Canada: ok, she will have a busy life moving a lot. Ok, she was an actress and probably the dog was already used to live with others when she was away. NEVERTHELESS … I couldn\'t do it. But again I would have never wanted to mix with that appalling family either: arrogant, rude and practitioners and great financial supporters (behind the sense but it came up anyway) of fox hunting.
In the UK there is a great media movement in favour of veganism at the moment. From forbidden word it has suddenly passed to be the most fashionable one. I am very cynical about all what concern the Mountbatten (their only birth surname). They know that people are getting more and more fed up of their silly childish games and virtual reality. This woman was very much calculated and is now used. The story of the part-time veganism is just more smoke in the eyes of those who want to be blinded. Pretending to be modern, compassionate and whatever. Read the internal rules of the Palace and you will be diving in surrealism, like a bad script of some unbelievable film. Look at their deeds and you will be horrified.

First it\'s Beyonce and her being a "vegan to get in shape for a tour or show", again, like Meghan Markle another hypocrite. For being an animal lover it amazes me these people think it\'s fine to eat a chicken, pig or cow, but never their own pet like a dog. You cannot choose what species lives or dies because you are now accustomed to eating species that have not had any respect in this world of animal abusers (ie People who eat animals!). I cringe when I hear another say they are an animal lover but wear fur, leather and eat dead rotted flesh. I tell them you are NOT an animal lover! Same with Prince Harry and his soon to be bride. Hey, she left her older dog in Canada! Not much there to admire sorry. And One Green Planet, stop with these lame ass stories of celebs going vegan for what a minute or two? Then worse never doing it for the right reasons cuz MEAT IS MURDER!

No such thing as a Vegan diet. Only the diet you happen to eat when being a Vegan. You can eat a plant based diet. I really wish the word Vegan wasn\'t banded around when talking about diet or food.

I totally agree. Veganism is much more than a diet and the reasons to choose it can only be ethical. Otherwise it is just a plant-based diet and nothing all.

There is no such thing as a part-time vegan. Stop promoting this bullshit. She is probably plant-based. Part-time. Nothing to brag about.

So true Ellen. Plus she\'s marrying a known animal abuser, whose hobby includes shooting - for instance, a one-tonne water buffalo in Argentina in 2004, wild boar on a trip to Spain, and numerous bird shoots. Not to mention fox hunting. Odious individual.

Absolutely agree, no such thing as a part-time vegan. Instead of saying I eat meat once-twice a week, for example, she says "I\'m almost vegan\'. Hypocrisy.

I totally agree with the others and I am surprised that Green Planet has fallen for such a simple trick. I don\'t know the others but I live in London and we have been forced-fed with all the possible details of this couple for far too long. They only need to tell us how often they go to the toilet and that\'s all. The hypocrisy of this business is just revolting. I don\'t know about her, but unfortunately I know even too well about the Mountbatten of whom she is not part of. Nothing is done for love. It\'s all calculations to keep them where they are because the common opinion has gone down and down and they rightly fear that after this queen they will make their suitcases and go. This woman is shamefully used, practically she has been bought. She represents all what they are not and they want to pretend to be. She is not English, a "commoner" like us, a divided, difficult family and partially black. Bingo! We know their mentality too well. And now they try to jump also on the vegan wagon! Incredible. They must be seriously worried about their future to accept her.
