Just when we thought we couldn’t adore Meghan Markle any more than we already do, we just found out something that makes us love her 100 times more! The soon-to-be wife of Prince Harry is a staunch advocate of adopting pets and just recently, news circulated that the high-profile couple is asking for donations to charities in lieu of wedding gifts. Now, our admiration for the former Suits star has grown exponentially … because she eats a plant-based diet on the weekdays!

While speaking to Melissa Greer of Best Health, Meghan shared that she eats vegan during the weekdays in order to remain fit and healthy. ”When I’m filming, I’m conscious of what I eat. I try to eat vegan during the week and then have a little bit more flexibility with what I dig into on the weekends,” said Meghan. She went on to share that it’s all about balance and that, “It’s not a diet; it’s lifestyle eating.”

With this simple shift, Meghan is making a huge, positive impact … just check it out!

As the Royal wedding date approaches on May 19th, 2018, we are delighted to see Meghan continually supporting efforts that help the planet! As many around the world anticipate the Royal wedding and are following Meghan’s every move, the star is setting a powerful example that everyone can incorporate into their day-to-day lives.

Whether it be for animal welfare or environmental concerns, or even health reasons, about one-third of Americans are leaving meat and dairy off their plates and opting for plant-based foods. The rising demand isn’t surprising when you take into account how a whole foods vegan diet has repeatedly been linked to better heart health, prevention of diabetes and cancer, and more. And when you factor in the massive environmental toll of industrialized animal agriculture, eating plant-based is the simplest and most effective solution.

Knowing how dire of a situation the planet is in because of our meat habit, it’s great to see celebrities use their platform to speak up for animals, their health, and the environment! And hey, maybe Meghan’s healthy eating habits will rub off on the rest of the family?
