A mother’s love knows no bounds, not even the bounds of species. For these three baby kittens, that’s a good thing. They were brought to this shelter without their mother and at only a few days old they were in desperate need of a mother’s care.
Enter Mary, a mama dog with the heart of a saint if there ever was one. She took these kittens in as her own. As you can see in the video, she doesn’t even want to let the shelter workers hold them. Nope, these are her babies. Mary had seven puppies of her own to care for, but she still had room in her heart for more babies. It might seem strange to us to think a dog would adopt three kittens, after all, aren’t dogs and cats traditional enemies? Or, that’s what the cartoons have taught us.
But it’s really no stranger than humans adopting kittens. We all have the capacity to love, and a baby is a baby no matter the species. Just like we can’t look at those kittens without feeling a rush of affection, neither could Mama Mary. She saw a need and stepped up to fill it. Just like any Green Monster would!

In a world that is so full of violence and destruction , it is heart warming to see this video. To encourage spay and neutering costs should be tax deductible and or partially subsidized by government
We humans can learn a lot from our animals. Of course there will always be differences among our fellow men & women – culture, ideologies, etc, but we have the ability to make it work. God bless our animal friends for showing us that love knows no boundaries.
